8/26/24 Ryan Yarbrough was the forgotten man at the trade deadline, but the long reliever is making the Blue Jays take notice. The headlines, columns and summaries of general manager Ross Atkins' wheeling and dealing focused on the 13 prospects who would improve a weak minor-league system. Little attention was given to the 32-year-old Yarbrough. The veteran had been recently designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers and was set to become a free agent in approximately three months. Fast forward four weeks and Yarbrough has proven to be a valuable piece.

6/22/24 Dodgers News: Ryan Yarbrough Having 'Uncharacteristic' Season. Ryan Yarbrough has filled a need on the Los Angeles Dodgers pitching staff since joining the team at the midway point of the 2023 season. Without big time stuff from the left side, Yarbrough's focus is on command and missing the big part of the bat. After Landon Knack turned in five scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night, Yarbrough was called upon in his usual role. “Yeah, I think that's a simple way to look at it,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of Yarbrough's issues on Friday.

1/09/24 Ryan Yarbrough 2024 salary arbitration preview. The salary arbitration case for Ryan Yarbrough boils down to how to properly value the relatively unheralded role of a swingman. The Dodgers kept Yarbrough off the National League Division Series roster in October, though that was partially driven by the plethora of right-handed batters in the Diamondbacks lineup. Yarbrough's numbers at first glance don't stand out – he's had ERAs of 4.50 or higher for three years running, with FIPs between 4.38 and 4.77 during that time. But he's properly lauded by teammates and the coaching staff for eating innings, for pitching whenever asked, sometimes in thankless roles. 10/02/23 Dodgers News: Ryan Yarbrough Vows To Improve For Playoffs. Ryan Yarbrough has provided tremendous value to the Los Angeles Dodgers since being acquired from Kansas City Royals at the August 1 trade deadline, but his final appearance of the 2023 season left plenty to be desired. Tasked with making a start at Coors Field, the left-hander took on the brunt of damage done by the Colorado Rockies in a Dodgers loss. With the second seed in the National League locked up, the Dodgers needed to plod their way through a final slate of games. Yarbrough was the unfortunate recipient of being both off his game, while also needing to pitch deep enough to avoid having to use more bullpen arms than necessary.

8/21/23 Dodgers Hesitant To Use Ryan Yarbrough As Starter Because Of Value In Bullpen.
