The Miami Dolphins quarterback -- son of former Palmyra basketball coach Brad Thompson and a Palmyra, Missouri, native -- is no longer a member of the team's roster after his practice squad contract ran out, according to a post made on social media by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Monday morning, Now a free agent, Thompson is free to sign with any team — including those still in the NFL Playoffs. Huntley seemed better executing the offense, coach Mike McDaniel seemed better calling plays that were more friendly to Huntley's skills. The final image of Skylar Thompson playing for the Miami Dolphins might be of him missing a tackle on New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez as he was on his way to the end zone on a fumble return. The Dolphins waived Thompson, the backup quarterback who has since been demoted to third string, on Saturday. Head coach Mike McDaniel didn't say it directly Monday afternoon, but he might as well have with a brief sentence telling reporters at the Baptist Health Training Complex that Tyler "Snoop" Huntley would serve as the backup quarterback for Tua Tagovailoa in the upcoming game against the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium. Miami quarterback Skylar Thompson still had the ball and no idea Hall was approaching from behind. “Huge,” Hall said of how wide his eyes got as he barreled toward Thompson, who was standing near the sideline waiting for someone to come open deep on a Hail Mary play as the first half ended.
