6/15/24 Rockies' Adael Amador “getting acclimated” to major leagues. The Rockies are not counting on Adael Amador to make a huge splash in the big-league pool. “We want to get him acclimated,” manager Bud Black said. In his first five games, entering Saturday night's game against the Pirates at Coors Field, Amador was hitting 3-for-18 (.167) with five strikeouts, no walks and one stolen base. When Rodgers does return, Amador will be optioned back to the minors, most likely to Double-A Hartford.

6/13/24 Rockies Mailbag: Elias Diaz, Brendan Rodgers on the trade block? Did Rox know Kris Bryant had bad back?. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. With Adael Amador getting his first taste of the bigs, I think Brendan Rodgers could be a good candidate to move in the offseason. Elias Diaz is obviously the top trade candidate and guys like Elehuris Montero and Hunter Goodman probably need to be moved to free up the logjam of young first base/outfield/designated hitter guys. Is there any package of Rockies players that you see netting the Rox a top-end rotational prospect?

6/12/24 Adael Amador set to be the next Ezequiel Tovar for Colorado Rockies. Coming into the 2024 season, Colorado Rockies prospect Adael Amador was listed as the best in their farm system and in the Top 30 across all of baseball. Oh yeah, this remarkably solid middle infield defender with plus speed is also a switch-hitter. In two minor league seasons prior to camp, Amador walked more than he struck out, carving out a reputation as one of the very best contact hitters in the minors. In 231 games played down on the farm, he tallied 259 hits, drew 153 bases on balls, and struck out just 133 times.

6/09/24 Rockies recall top prospect Amador from minors. The Rockies promoted prized prospect Adael Amador from Double-A Hartford on Sunday and placed fellow infielder Brendan Rodgers on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

6/08/24 Rockies contemplating calling up Adael Amador, their No. 1 prospect. The Rockies are contemplating calling up infielder Adael Amador, the club's top prospect, from Double-A Hartford, a source confirmed Saturday. According to a report by baseball writer Francys Romero, Amador will bypass Triple-A Albuquerque and make his major-league debut, perhaps as early as Sunday. The Rockies, however, have not announced the move yet, and Amador's promotion depends on the health and availability of starting second baseman Brendan Rodgers.

2/25/24 Adael Amador, the Rockies' top prospect, is flashing star potential. But is there a spot for him in Colorado's infield?. There are a lot of young baseball players in the Dominican Republic who throw sizzling fastballs, mash line drives, field with aplomb and light up the basepaths. Adael Amador had it when he was barely a teenager, and he's flashing it now as he competes in his first big-league spring training with the Rockies. “From very early on, he was a gamer,” said Chris Forbes, Colorado's director of player development. You would see him over there in the DSL (Dominican Summer League) games and he'd be running the show a little bit.

2/12/24 Colorado Rockies top prospects 2024: Adael Amador teases sneaky power, Chase Dollander's arm faces Coors test. A duo of young bats and a top draft pick lead the Rockies' system

1/25/24 Colorado Rockies prospects: No. 25, Ryan Ritter. The Rockies drafted Ritter 116th overall in the fourth round and signed him for a slightly over-slot $530k bonus. After a 2022 cameo in the complex league, Ritter was assigned in 2023 to Low-A Fresno (in deference to Adael Amador in High-A), where he was 0.9 years older than league average. In fact, this stretch was so impressive that Ritter was named the MVP of the California League despite not playing the league after July 2nd. Amador's late-June injury (and Ritter's performance) paved the way for an early-July promotion to High-A Spokane, where things weren't quite as smooth for Ritter.

11/29/23 Colorado Rockies Top 10 Prospects For 2024 Fantasy Baseball. 1. SS Adael Amador | 20 | AA | 2025 A plus hit tool combines with above average power and excellent plate skills to make Amador the easy number one in this organization. A switch-hitter at 6’0” 200 lbs, he slashed .302/.391/.514 with nine home runs, 12 stolen bases, 26 strikeouts and 31 walks in 54 games at High-A Stockton. His ten games in Double-A didn’t go as smoothly, but it’d be premature to care. More useful to note that he earned that promotion as a cherry on top of a good season than to parse the small sample. I have 2025 as the ETA here, but that’s partly because the Rockies figure to be out of contention by the time Amador might be ready to graduate Triple-A if he has another strong season.

11/28/23 Tuesday Rockpile: Projecting the 2027 Colorado Rockies. I had really intended to write about FanGraphs' pre-season Steamer projections, but then I discovered that Baseball American had updated their Rockies materials. First, Baseball America has a new Top 10 Rockies prospects list , and they are clearly enthusiastic about Adael Amador. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Baseball America (@baseballamerica) Here's what the rest of the Rockies Top 10 list looks like: Adael Amador (SS) Chase Dollander (RHP) Yanquiel Fernandez (OF) Jordan Beck (OF) Sterlin Thompson (2B) Zac Veen (OF) Dylan Jorge (SS) Jordy Vargas (RHP) Drew Romo (C) Robert Calaz (OF) I've got a few quibbles (should Calaz be ranked this high?), but that's a subject for the comments.
