12/28/24 Perry: Ja'Lynn Polk trending in wrong direction entering Chargers game. FOXBORO -- What are the stakes? The Patriots have very little to play for when it comes to the standings. If anything, there should be some level of attempting to at the very least match last year's atrocious four-win record. Yet, the stakes exist. They exist for a coaching staff with a couple of coordinators whose seats should be warm with the offseason approaching . They exist for a roster full of players whose 2025 whereabouts are uncertain, needing to put out as much competent tape as possible as they hope to earn jobs for next season. 12/27/24 Patriots OC shares late-season hopes for rookie receivers. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt is still optimistic about rookie receivers Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker, despite their first-year struggles at the NFL level. 12/26/24 Do Patriots Regret Not Drafting Standout Rookie Wide Receiver?. The Patriots had a chance to draft a potential No. 1 wide receiver but instead were left waiting to see what a rookie duo could do next season. New England reportedly tried to trade back into the first round in the 2024 NFL Draft. There were plenty of names also available at the top of the second round. Instead, the Patriots moved back three spots to take Ja'Lynn Polk and use a sixth-round pick on Javon Baker.

12/22/24 Breer: Potential offensive coordinator candidate if Patriots make change. The New England Patriots have struggled offensively this season. The young wide receivers, especially rookies Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker, have not developed well at all. The offensive line has struggled with pass protection and penalties. Rookie quarterback Drake Maye has developed nicely, which is hugely important for the future of the franchise.

12/21/24 Former Patriots QB Offers Rough Take on Rookie WRs. Last offseason, the New England Patriots had a dire need at wide receiver, and after striking out in free agency, they attempted to fill the hole in the NFL Draft. The Patriots ended up selecting Ja'Lynn Polk and Javon Baker in the second and fourth rounds, respectively, and most felt that they made terrific picks. Neither Polk nor Baker has made a significant impact this season, with Polk totaling just 12 catches for 87 yards and a couple of touchdowns and Baker going without a reception entirely.

12/17/24 Patriots Rookie WR Receives All-Time Brutal Take from Analyst. When the New England Patriots selected wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, they thought they were getting a big-time playmaker. During his college career, Polk showed huge playmaking potential for the next level. Unfortunately, things have not ended up going as expected. Entering Week 16, the Patriots still have not received any kind of an impact from the rookie wideout. He has been a complete non-factor and has shown no signs of turning things around. On the season, Polk has caught just 12 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Clearly, those are not the numbers expected from a second-round pick who was given an opportunity to play right off the bat. Due to

12/16/24 Zolak: N'Keal Harry had bigger impact than what Ja'Lynn Polk will have. Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Zolak & Bertrand" discusses the lack of veteran leadership in the Patriots receiver room and rookie Ja'Lynn Polk's disappointing season.

12/13/24 Patriots OC points out reasons for rookie WR Ja'Lynn Polk's struggles. New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt still believes that rookie wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk can be a good player in the NFL despite his struggles. The rookie has recorded 12 catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns on the year. Things looked promising to start his career, as he recorded a touchdown in the Patriots' season-opening win over the Cincinnati Bengals back in September.

12/11/24 Rookie receiver Ja'Lynn Polk, who also started slow in college, says it's 'going to get greater' with Patriots. “This is the same process a little bit, if you kind of think about it,” Polk said. Polk, who had a combined 33 catches in his first two seasons in college , had 110 combined in his last two years, including 69 for 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns last season with the Huskies. Polk's less-than-ideal start in college has indeed been mirrored with the Patriots. “I just continue just to have a positive mind-set,” Polk said.

12/08/24 Insider Reveals Biggest Reason for Patriots Rookie's Struggles. The 2024 NFL season has not gone according to plan for New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk. After being drafted with the No. 37 overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Polk was expected to be a key player for the Patriots' offense. Throughout the course of his rookie season, Polk has caught just 12 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. Polk has elite athleticism and route-running and in college he looked like a future star, but that has not materialized on the NFL field so far in New England.

12/06/24 Analyst Unveils Bold Goal for Patriots. The New England Patriots are just 3-10, so the 2024 NFL season is over for them in terms of a playoff perspective (not that the Patriots were ever going to contend for a playoff spot anyway). However, there are still plenty of things New England can focus on over the final four games of the year. Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine has identified one goal in particular: getting the young receivers more involved. "The Pats could still use a No. 1 receiver this offseason, but the other roles are theoretically up for grabs," Ballentine wrote . "Between Kashon Boutte, Ja'Lynn Polk, Javon Baker and DeMario Douglas, they have four receivers on the active roster who are 23 or younger." Both Polk and Baker

12/06/24 Just how bad has Patriots rookie Ja'Lynn Polk been this year?. In the 2024 NFL draft, the New England Patriots traded back in the second round and used the 37th overall pick to select wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk out of Washington. All reports on Polk coming out of the school were about his maturity and his ability to be a possession receiver at the next level. According to the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed, Polk ranks last in catch rate (38.7%), last in yards per target (2.8) and second to last in success rate (25.8%) among all NFL wide receivers with at least 30 targets.

12/04/24 Patriots Reportedly Believe Wideout's Struggles Product Of This. Ja'Lynn Polk could use a bye week. The New England Patriots rookie wideout underwhelmed greatly through 13 games and has been consistently criticized for his lack of production and mindless miscues. Those inside the building at One Patriot Place believe the root of Polk's problems are mental struggles, according to the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed. “Team sources believe Polk is struggling mentally with mistakes and that he's hard on himself,” Kyed wrote, “so the issues are compounding.” Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo felt Polk was going through a “mental hump” in mid-October. Polk pushed back on Mayo's assessment at the time. Story continues below advertisement The Washington product caught 10 of

12/01/24 Patriots Make Interesting Locker Room Change. It has not exactly been a fun season for New England Patriots rookie wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk. The Patriots selected Polk in the second round of the NFL Draft last spring, and many expected Polk to represent a significant producer in the team's aerial attack. Well, the Pats have come up with an interesting idea: moving Polk's locker closer to veteran pass-catcher Kendrick Bourne.

11/19/24 Patriots Rookie Slammed With Grim Take. Many felt the New England Patriots landed a sleeper when they selected Washington Huskies wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk in the second round of the NFL Draft. Some even felt that Polk would be one of the most productive rookies in his class. Clearly, that has not been the case . In 10 appearances this season, Polk has logged just 11 catches for 80 yards and a couple of touchdowns. His best performance came against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 29, when he caught three passes for 30 yards. The 22-year-old has been all but invisible , and Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski has labeled Polk one of B/R's biggest misses when it comes to assessing 2024 draft talent. "This year's 37th overall pick hasn't
