1/29/25 Washington Nationals Could Pilfer Dodgers Surplus To Put a Stamp on Offseason. The Washington Nationals are looking to take a step forward in 2025 with another year of development under the belts of their young stars. James Wood and Dylan Crews debuted in the Majors last year, and both outfielders look to be pivotal pieces of the roster for years to come. Offensively, the Nationals are set for 2025 outside of a few potential tweaks here and there; one area that could use some improvement, however, is their starting rotation. With Fangraphs projecting MacKenzie Gore to serve as the ace and Jake Irvin as the number two pitcher in the rotation, it is not a bad unit, but it could certainly use some improvement.

As the Washington Nationals continue to maneuver through the winter ahead of the upcoming season, there are still a few holes they need to address. One of the options posed here at Washington Nationals On SI, is now no longer available. Per Andy Martino of SNY, Jesse Winker has agreed to a deal with the New York Mets, and Jon Heyman of The New York Post, reports the terms are for $8 million with a $1 million signing bonus should he pass a physical.

11/15/24 Will Washington Nationals Trade Prospects This Offseason to Improve?. The Washington Nationals are heading into the offseason looking to improve a team that feels like it is getting closer to being able to compete in the National League East. It was a successful 2024 campaign for the Nationals in that the team's young talent started making its way to the Majors, including outfielders James Wood and Dylan Crews. While most of that speculation has been regarding free agents, the team could also look to entertain the trade market. While the Nationals haven't been active in the trade market in a long time in terms of improving the team, they have stockpiled a lot of talented prospects over the last several years and could be positioned to make a move.

Herz, Andres Chaparro, Jose Tena, Jacob Young and ultimately C.J. Abrams and MacKenzie Gore. Crews already has 2 homers, Wood has fully warmed up to the majors, Chaparro and Tena will routinely do something crazy, and Parker and Herz can strike people out. So if you're wondering how the Yankees dropped two games to these guys, that's how. This is a team that is moving forward right in front of us, is calling up organizational
