12/20/24 | Saints Practice Updates: Chase Young, Marquez Valdes-Scantling Not Spotted On Friday. As the Saints continue to make preparations for a frigid Green Bay environment to close out Week 16 action, Friday's practice gave us a little more insight on who may and may not be available for the Packers game. Among those not spotted during the open portion of practice that was made available to the media included Derek Carr (left hand), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back), Alvin Kamara (groin), Chase Young (illness) and Bub Means (ankle). Interim head coach Darren Rizzi was hopeful to get Young and Valdes-Scantling back today, but we did not see them on the field. Young is dealing with a 'bug' similar to what Alvin Kamara had the previous week. Source: https://www.si.com/nfl/saints/news/saints-practice... |
12/19/24 | Saints, Packers matchup must end Derek Carr charade. The New Orleans Saints made an investment in Derek Carr in the 2023 offseason to the tune of a four-year, $150 million contract with $100 of that guaranteed. Carr had never been a superstar in his career, but he's always been a well-above average quarterback who could make big-time plays with good talent around him. Would that have made Carr the Saints' “franchise quarterback”? Source: https://clutchpoints.com/saints-packers-matchup-mu... |
12/19/24 | Why Spencer Rattler Should Start At Quarterback For The Saints In Their Remaining Three Games. New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi was initially noncommittal early in the week when asked who will be the team's starting quarterback in Week 16 against the Green Bay Packers. Rizzi was asked about the situation after Sunday's 20-19 loss to Washington. Starting QB Derek Carr fractured his left hand late in a Week 14 win against the Giants. In an interview with Mike Hoss and WWL on Wednesday, Saints GM Mickey Loomis stated that Carr 'wants to play, and when he can, he will.' 12/18/24 | Why it's 'reasonable' Saints could make this offseason Derek Carr decision. The Saints will have plenty to address this offseason following another lost season that precipitated the firing of their head coach, and Carr and the quarterback position will be at or near the top of the list.
