The Athletics on Saturday welcomed a new pitcher to their organization and parted ways with two other players in a series of moves. The A’s made a trade to acquire right-handed pitcher from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for minor league catcher Owen Carapellotti, and designated infielder Brett Harris for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster. Juenger, a sixth-round pick by the Blue Jays in the 2021 MLB Draft, made two appearances for Toronto this season and allowed three earned runs on two hits with two walks across two innings. He primarily has pitched at the Triple-A level this year, where he was 1-2 with a 2.59 ERA across 21 games (two starts) with two saves, nine walks and 28 strikeouts for the Buffalo Bisons. Juenger was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on Tuesday. Per Bisons PA announcer , Juenger ended his Bisons tenure the team’s modern era leader in games pitched (178) and sixth in strikeouts (251). Hayden Juenger.
