6/01/24 Padres dealt brutal Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove injury updates. The San Diego Padres are losing two key arms to the injured list. Joe Musgrove was scratched from his start against the Kansas City Royals as the team placed him on the 15-day IL due to triceps tendinitis, via Kevin Acee. It's the same injury that put Musgrove on the shelf at the beginning of May. The Padres called up Randy Vasquez to pitch in Musgrove's place. Darvish is also heading to the 15-day IL with a hamstring injury.

The Padres have reinstated right-handed pitcher Joe Musgrove from the 15-day injured list to start Tuesday night's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds. San Diego Padres All-Star starting pitcher Joe Musgrove feels much better as he's recovering from inflammation in his right elbow. In a recent interview with the media, including the San Diego Union-Tribune's Jeff Sanders, Musgrove said he felt good in his recent Monday bullpen session. "I feel really good today," Musgrove said. Musgrove threw a "light" bullpen session on Monday and completed his first since joining the 15-day injured list May 5.

Joe Musgrove pitched seven innings for the first time since July 4 and Xander Bogaerts homered for the San Diego Padres, who beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 to avoid a three-game sweep.
