He landed on the IL with a right calf strain on July 30, the day after exiting early in a 9-6 loss at Kansas City. Acuna, 27, said he sustained the injury earlier in that series while scoring from first base on Austin Riley's double. Acuna is slashing .306/.429/.577 with 14 home runs and 26 RBIs in 55 games this season. The 2023 National League MVP was selected to the All-Star Team for the fifth time this year.
