7/09/25 Former All-Pro RB tabs Bills' James Cook as 'essential' in 2025 index. If there is anything Maurice Jones-Drew can assess as an NFL Network analyst, it is the running back position. One back the three-time Pro Bowl back recently discussed was the Buffalo Bills' James Cook, as MJD listed his first RB index of the 2025 season. Cook had a fairly modest ranking, checking in at No. 11. MJD, a 2011 All-Pro First Team choice, did, however, have positive points to share about the fourth-year back, but also noted the elephant in the room that is his contract dispute.

5/25/25 Jaguars Should Have Helped Maurice Jones-Drew in 2008 Redraft. It's truly unfortunate that most young football fans do not understand the level of talent that Jaguars had from the golden years with Tom Coughlin all the way through the Jack Del Rio era. For an expansion franchise, those years were defined by roster moves that made the Jaguars good but there was always a miss that prevented them from being great. In Pro Football Focus' re-draft of the 2008 selection process by Max Chadwick, Dalton Wasserman and Trevor Sikkema, we look back at the last draft conducted by James "Shack" Harris and how his moves prevented the Jaguars from being successful going into the 2010s.

4/17/25 Penn State's Tyler Warren Would Transform Rams Offense. The Rams were recently linked to standout tight end Tyler Warren due to a trade proposal by NFL analyst Maurice Jones-Drew. "I'd love to see the Los Angeles Rams trade up to get a premier player at the tight end position. Specifically, I'm thinking Tyler Warren." Wrote Jones-Drew. "L.A. currently owns eight selections, including No. 26 overall, but without a second-round pick, the team might have to give up a future first-rounder in order to move up the board and land the Penn State tight end. Les Snead has given up high draft picks in the past -- remember the "F--- them picks" philosophy? -- so it doesn't feel as if that would prevent the Rams from making a move that would add an exceptional

1/19/25 Former All-Pro RB Praises Titans' Tony Pollard. Ranking No. 27 in the NFL for total points scored and No. 26 in offensive yards, the unit left a lot to be desired on the field. During his first year with the franchise, Pollard was a bright spot in an otherwise bleak campaign. Despite missing a game, Pollard eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards for his third-straight season, being only one of 16 backs to do so across 2024. As a result of another strong season, many analysts and even former NFL players have taken note -- the latest being former NFL Pro Bowler and All-Pro Maurice Jones-Drew.

10/14/24 Rams News: Maurice Jones-Drew Breaks Down Why LA's 1-4 Start is Nothing to Worry About. The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their Week 6 bye, and things are turning for them little by little. Because of those injuries, the Rams have had a disastrous start to the season, with a 1-4 record. At 1-4 and with many of their players injured, many believe the Rams should throw in the towel this season, but former All-Pro running back and Rams analyst Maurice Jones-Drew believes it is too late to count the Rams out. In an interview with James Brizuela of Los Angeles Sports Report, he explained why a 1-4 start shouldn't be a concern.

10/09/24 Commanders have one of the NFL's top rushing duos. Maurice Jones-Drew played in the NFL for nine years, rushing for over 8,000 yards and 68 touchdowns. He once led the league in rushing and was a two-time All-Pro and three-time Pro Bowler. These days, Jones-Drew is an analyst on the NFL Network and, each week, ranks NFL running backs in his “RB Index .” Ahead of Week 6, Jones-Drew ranked the top five NFL rushing duos. MJD didn't necessarily mean a team's top two running backs, but it could also be the quarterback and top running back. No surprise, Jones-Drew ranked Baltimore's Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry at No. 1. The Ravens have the NFL's No. 1 rushing offense, averaging over 200 yards rushing per game. 9/01/24 REPORT: Former All-Pro, Jacksonville Legend Gives Praise to Jaguars Skill Player. Maurice Jones-Drew was one of the best running backs and players to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Perhaps only Fred Taylor is more revered at the position. Jones-Drew, a three-time Pro Bowler and as well as a first-team All-Pro selection in 2011, carried the torch for Jaguars running backs. For a brief period, it looked like Leonard Fournette would be the heir apparent in the lineage of talented Jaguars backs.

8/18/24 National Outlet Shares Major Concern About Key Piece of Bengals' Offense. CINCINNATI — Former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew ranked the NFL's starting running backs head of the 2024 season. He had Zack Moss ranked No. 31 out of 32 starters. Moss is expected to split the workload with Chase Brown. "Moss set career highs with 210 touches, 986 scrimmage yards, and seven touchdowns in 14 games last season with the Colts," Jones-Drew wrote on NFL.com. "He did an admirable job filling in for Jonathan Taylor, who was in and out of the lineup with injuries. Now, Moss has a chance to stake his claim as a true RB1 in Cincinnati. However, the Bengals' offense runs through Joe Burrow and the passing attack. That could open lanes for Moss, but volume is the concern here."

8/01/24 ‘Make It Make Sense!’: Maurice Jones-Drew Places T.J. Watt Over Myles Garrett In Top 10 Rankings. When it comes to ranking the best defenders in football, typically, the discussion comes down to Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt. More often than not, at least lately, from the national media perspective, it’s common to rank Garrett over Watt.  Former NFL running back and NFL Network analyst Maurice Jones-Drew has had enough.
