Bryson Stott opened the scoring in the third inning with a leadoff double and came around to score on a fielder's choice. An infield single helped set the table again in the fifth, leading to a 2-1 lead courtesy of a 105 mph RBI double from Kyle Schwarber. Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/philadelphia-phillies... |

7/24/25 | Jesus Luzardo's Regression Has Been Huge Blow for Phillies' Rotation. One of the most intriguing under-the-radar moves any team made this past offseason was the Philadelphia Phillies' acquisition of Miami Marlins' starter Jesus Luzardo in December. The Peruvian native had been with the Marlins six years at the time of the trade, putting up okay numbers in that stretch, and was also coming back from a lower back injury that cost him most of his 2024 campaign. Given all of these factors, many assumed that the 26-year-old would be little more than a serviceable back-end rotation piece for the Phillies. This wasn't the case early on, however, as Luzardo looked like one of the best hurlers in the game. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/phillies/news/jesus-luzardo... |

7/23/25 | Phillies turn to Jesus Luzardo in bid for sweep of Red Sox. After two terrific outings from their starting pitchers to begin their series against the visiting Boston Red Sox, the Philadelphia Phillies will turn to Jesus Luzardo in hopes of completing a sweep on Wednesday. Zack Wheeler allowed two runs in six innings in Monday's 3-2 victory and then Cristopher Sanchez raised the bar Tuesday with a complete game, allowing only four hits in a 4-1 triumph. The Phillies' two starters combined to strike out 22 batters without a walk. "They just feed off each other," Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson said after Sanchez's 12-strikeout gem. 7/18/25 | Phillies' Jesús Luzardo takes responsibility for loss to Angels. Major League Baseball is officially out of the All-Star break and the contenders are locked in on the second half of the season as they try to get to the top of their divisions and secure playoff position. For the Philadelphia Phillies, that quest did not get off to a good start, as they lost to the Los Angeles Angels 6-5 in front of their home crowd. Jesus Luzardo got the ball for Rob Thomson and company in the first game out of the break, and he looked like someone that had been on vacation for a few days. After the game, Luzardo pointed the finger at himself for giving up those early runs, which he feels like eventually cost the Phillies the game. 7/14/25 | Phillies, Marlins Linked to Trade for Incredibly Unique Pitcher. The Miami Marlins have quite a few pitchers they could move ahead of the MLB trade deadline, and considering they have already traded one arm to the Philadelphia Phillies recently, why not another? Remember: during the offseason, the Marlins sent Jesus Luzardo to the Phillies, demonstrating that Miami is not exactly against dealing with NL East rivals. Philadelphia will surely be looking for relief help before July 31, as the back end of the Phillies' bullpen has been nothing short of an unmitigated disaster.
