7/30/24 After almost three years, Randy Dobnak returns to major leagues with Twins. Randy Dobnak announced his long-awaited return to the big leagues like another sporting legend: with a statement that said just two simple words. “I'm back,” it read, mirroring the statement that Michael Jordan put out when he returned to the NBA after testing his abilities as a baseball player. Dobnak posted the statement to his social media account Tuesday morning after being recalled to the major leagues for the first time since the 2021 season. “It's been a lot of fun the last few years, but a lot of adversity,” Dobnak said.

Matt Wallner had a perfect night at the plate for the Saints, going 4 for 4, including a solo home run. 3/02/23 Finger finally healthy, Randy Dobnak looks to work way back into Twins' plans. If he could do it all over again, Randy Dobnak would have said “no” to Wes Johnson when the then-Twins pitching coach asked if the right-hander was OK to pitch that day. Now healthy, Dobnak, who gave up a run in two innings pitched in the Twins' 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday at Tropicana Field, is hoping to work his way back to the majors.

7/02/22 Randy Dobnak was back with Twins on Saturday, but he wasn't back. Dobnak was in the Twin Cities to receive a cortisone shot in the right middle finger that has limited him to one major league appearance since June 19, 2021. That was always kind of like the last resort kind of thing,” he said. He opted for the shot after the latest in a string of setbacks on the finger that first landed him on the injured list a little more than a year ago, derailing a second major league that started with him signing a five-year, $9.25 million contract earned after a solid roo...

7/08/21 Behind Enemy Lines: Bookending the All-Star Break with Twinkie Town. The “depth” pitchers like Randy Dobnak, Devin Smeltzer, and Lewis Thorpe have been hurt as well, forcing the Twins to stick with the likes of the recently, finally DFA’d Matt Shoemaker and J.A. Happ a lot longer than Twins fans will have wanted. In addition, Alex Colome has been pretty bad, Hansel Robles has been less-bad, but not great, and none of the other bullpen gambles has really paid off.

6/10/21 Randy Dobnak gives up four home runs as Twins fall 9-6 to Yankees. But now he has, and the source of his ugly outing, he believes, might have been a nail salon he visited earlier in the day. "I actually went to a salon today and got a fake nail put on, thinking that might help" prevent a blister that develops when a fingernail is ripped away, as one was during his last start in Baltimore, Dobnak explained. "It did help with the blister part, but my fingernail is completely bruised right now.

6/09/21 Randy Dobnak gives up four home runs as Twins fall 9-6 to Yankees. Randy Dobnak recorded 10 of his 14 outs via ground balls Wednesday night, while the Twins peppered Yankees ace Gerrit Cole with baserunners in five of the six innings they faced him, and never failed to hit with runners in scoring position. So a 9-6 Yankees win probably sounds about right. Now factor in the home runs.
