8/05/25 Ex-Patriots 3rd-round pass catcher signs with Houston Texans. Dalton Keene is returning Houston, as the Texans announced they were re-signing the tight end on Tuesday. A Patriots third-rounder in the 2020 NFL Draft, Keene spent his first two seasons in New England, appearing in six games. Keene had two stops in Philadelphia and another in Denver before landing with the Texans in August of 2023. A practice squad member, Keene appeared in one game for Houston in 2023, then tore his ACL during training camp last summer.

8/01/23 Failed Patriots Draft Pick Reportedly Finds New Home With Texans. Remember Dalton Keene, Patriots fans? Well, he still is kicking around in the NFL, and now has another chance to earn a roster spot. The Houston Texans on Monday signed the 24-year-old tight end after hosting him for a workout, according to KPRC-TV's Aaron Wilson. Keene will participate in training camp and look to capitalize on what might be one of his final real opportunities in the league.

The Broncos also signed defensive back Delonte Hood and tight end Dalton Keene to the practice squad and released running back Devine Ozigbo from the practice squad. A third-round pick in 2020, Ojemudia appeared in all 16 games and started 11 contests as a rookie, but he has played in just five games — including one start — in the previous two seasons. 10/15/22 Denver Broncos Sign Ex-New England Patriots TE Dalton Keene, Cut LS Joe Fortunato. On Saturday, the Broncos signed former New England Patriots tight end Dalton Keene to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, the Broncos waived long-snapper Joe Fortunato, who was signed earlier this week after Jacob Bobenmoyer was lost to injury. That means that Mitchell Fraboni will serve as the Broncos' long-snapper while Bobenmoyer heals up.

Despite his early-round draft status, a series of injuries limited him to only six games during his rookie season. His experience at the professional level is therefore comparatively limited.
