| 6/25/22 | Former Illini Joey Gerber released by Mariners. Gerber made his MLB debut on Aug. 4, 2020, and he finished his first season with a 1–1 record and a 4.02 ERA, pitching in a little over 15 innings at the big league level. He then wouldn’t return to pitching until June 11, 2022, in a rehab start with the Mariners’ rookie-level Arizona affiliate where he pitched one inning, gave up one unearned run on two hits.
