The Colts haven't addressed all of those needs yet, but they've done enough to where they can shift focus for the remainder of the offseason to just a few key areas. The Colts could use one more QB3-worthy player in the quarterback room (Sam Ehlinger, for example) unless they're confident in giving Jason Bean a bump. Last year the NFLPA and NFL agreed to terms on allowing franchises to elevate a third quarterback towards the gameday roster from the practice squad for an unlimited amount of times. Today, the NFLPA has changed its stance. This is significant news because there was an argument being made around Indianapolis on whether Sam Ehlinger would stick on the Colts 53-man roster because of the unlimited amount of elevations a team could make. According to Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan, Carlies' pick came during 7-on-7 off a pass from Sam Ehlinger that cornerback Ameer Speed was able to breakup and Carlies was able to come down with. A former college safety at Missouri, Carlies has a real opportunity to carve out a role on this Colts' defense this season with his coverage abilities.
