Ben Casparius, a Westport native and former standout at Staples High School and UConn, is being added to the Los Angeles Dodgers' NL Division Series roster against the San Diego Padres. Casparius, a 25-year-old rookie right-hander, made his big league debut on Aug. 31 and was 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in three relief appearances, striking out 12 and walking four in 8 1/3 innings. The Los Angeles Dodgers selected the contract of Ben Casparius and designated Brent Honeywell for assignment in order to make room on their active and 40-man rosters. Casparius was scheduled to start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday but was scratched in preparation for joining the Dodgers roster. It was the second such instance for the OKC Baseball Club in recent days as Bobby Miller didn't start for the team as planned last Thursday.
