3/12/25 Texas Rangers top 30 prospects: No. 12 Paulino Santana brings exceptional plate discipline. In a recent rundown of talent in major league farm systems, ESPN's Kiley McDaniel picked a provocative word to describe the Texas Rangers organization: Volatile. In short, McDaniel said there didn't seem to be a lot of certainty to the talent, which he ranked 16th among all MLB organizations. There were a lot of potential big hits (Kumar Rocker, Jack Leiter, Sebastian Walcott), but just as many potential misses. What's perhaps more troubling is that among the major outlets that rank organizational talent, ESPN had the Rangers' system higher than others.

3/08/25 Kumar Rocker, Rangers rotation hopeful, shows progress in unofficial third start of spring. It was a backfield game against his own teammates on the first day of the second week of March, sure, but Kumar Rocker's unofficial third start of spring training could only be classified as progress. “It's something positive to build off of,” Rocker said. Rocker pitched three scoreless no-hit innings vs. Texas Rangers major leaguers in a backfield intrasquad game Saturday afternoon at the club's complex. The 25-year-old threw 39 pitches (23 for strikes) to a group of that included Joc Pederson, Josh Smith and Jonah Heim.
