CHICAGO -- Detroit Tigers rookie right-hander Dylan Smith was optioned to Triple-A Toledo following the first back-to-back outings of his career. Smith pitched two scoreless innings in his MLB debut on Monday and then allowed a couple of runs in one inning of work on Tuesday. Smith's spot on the roster will go to right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long, who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start Wednesday night's game against the White Sox. To create a 40-man roster spot for Gipson-Long, right-hander Jason Foley was recalled from Toledo and then placed on the 60-day injured list.
