5/28/25 Rockies swept by Cubs, drop to 9-47 as historically bad start continues. The Rockies' last postseason win, a dramatic 2-1 triumph in 13 innings on October 2, 2018, at Wrigley Field, seems like an eon ago. The loss dropped the Rockies to 9-47 on the season, and 3-25 on the road, amid their ninth straight defeat at Wrigley Field in their ninth sweep of a dismal 2025. The Rockies lost the three games in the series by a total of four runs. “This was a competitive series,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer told reporters.

5/24/25 Rockies Journal: Warren Schaeffer makes solid first impression, record be damned. Interim manager Warren Schaeffer had some interesting things to say over the past week as he tried to steer his team away from the worst 50-game start in baseball history. “I think that's something we needed around here,” one longtime baseball operations employee told me.

5/24/25 Ryan McMahon, Rockies end slide with comeback win against Yankees at sold-out Coors Field. Sure, many of them were here to root for the visitors, but the Colorado Rockies found a way to defeat the New York Yankees, 3-2, in front of an electric crowd of 47,211 at Coors Field. “It was beautiful to see a complete game out there,” Rockies interim manager Warren Schaeffer said. Tanner Gordon was an unexpected hero, and earned his first career win. Then Ryan McMahon delivered the huge hit that has evaded this Rockies club so often in what has already felt like a lost season.

5/18/25 Rockies meet Diamondbacks, aim for first series victory of season. Colorado interim manager Warren Schaeffer had a game -- and a celebration -- that he will never forget Saturday. After the Rockies overcame a five-run deficit for a 14-12 victory over Arizona in Phoenix, Schaeffer was packed into an equipment cart and rolled into the shower room. "Age-old baseball tradition," said Schaeffer, who got his first victory in his fifth game since being promoted to replace manager Bud Black last Sunday. 'Chivi' (Angel Chivilli) had Listerine he was dumping on me.

5/14/25 Rockies looking past futility mark toward day off and upcoming series against Diamondbacks. The Colorado Rockies left Texas as the first team in baseball’s modern era to lose 36 of their first 43 games and hoping an off day in Arizona can help them reset. “That’s the plan,” interim manager Warren Schaeffer said Wednesday night following an 8-3 loss to the Texas Rangers that was Colorado's 11th in the last 12 games. At 7-36, the Rockies have lost all 14 series this season.

5/13/25 Chase Dollander carries no-hitter into sixth inning, but Rockies falter in Warren Schaeffer's managerial debut. In the first game of the Warren Schaeffer era, Chase Dollander dazzled like the ace he's proclaimed to be. With the offense mostly a no-show, the Rockies lost 2-1 to Texas to drop to 7-34 and continue their pace to becoming the worst MLB team ever. Dollander held the Rangers hitless through 5 2/3 innings at Globe Life Field to start the Rockies' six-game road trip. The one hit Dollander surrendered was a two-run homer to Wyatt Langford, but then he eventually struck out Adolis García to end the frame.

5/11/25 Colorado Rockies fire manager Bud Black a day after losing 21-0 to San Diego. The Colorado Rockies have fired manager Bud Black. He was the winningest manager in franchise history, but the Rockies are off to a 7-33 start that’s one of the worst in Major League Baseball history. Colorado promoted third base coach Warren Schaeffer to be the interim manager Sunday after a 9-3 win over San Diego. That victory wasn’t enough to save Black’s job after the Rockies lost 21-0 to the Padres on Saturday. They also fired bench coach Mike Redmond. Hitting coach Clint Hurdle takes over as interim bench coach. The Rockies have the worst 40-game start since the 1988 Baltimore Orioles.

6/15/23 Alex Verdugo Surprised By This Head-Scratching Decision From Rockies. Colorado Rockies third base coach Warren Schaeffer made a costly decision in the first inning of Wednesday's game at Fenway Park, and Boston Red Sox right fielder Alex Verdugo made him pay for it. With one out and Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar at second base, No. 3 batter Ryan McMahon ripped a single to right field. The hard contact allowed Verdugo to get to it in a hurry.

3/19/23 Rockies' infield defense must improve, overcome loss of Brendan Rodgers. Last season, the Rockies' defense was messy.
