The Cleveland Guardians have some tough choices to make between now and the MLB trade deadline, and deciding whether or not to move Jose Ramirez is not one of them. For example, there has been speculation that Cleveland could potentially trade All-Star outfielder Steven Kwan, which has some Guardians fans incensed. 7/10/25 Guardians' Jose Ramirez Explains All-Star Game Decision. Last month, Jose Ramirez made Cleveland Guardians history, being named an All-Star for the seventh time, tying a record for the second-most in franchise history. Ramirez spoke to the media following the announcement and explained that he will sit out the All-Star game to use the time to get healthy and be ready for the second half of the season. "Everything started with that collision with [Vladimir Guerrero Jr.] in Toronto [on May 2]," Ramirez said through his interpreter, Agustin Rivero (quote via MLB.com's Time Stebbins).

7/09/25 Jose Ramirez surprisingly pulls out of All-Star Game. The Cleveland Guardians snapped a brutal 10-game losing streak with back-to-back wins against the Houston Astros this week. While manager Stephen Vogt wasn't concerned about the skid, it's been an up-and-down season for the Guardians despite another impressive campaign from Jose Ramirez. The Guardians' third baseman made his seventh-career MLB All-Star Game this year.
