5/16/24 Dodgers Roster Decision: Chris Taylor Or James Outman Once Jason Heyward Returns. The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the midst of a blistering stretch, expanding upon their lead in the National League West, while playing complimentary baseball up and down the roster. The veteran outfielder was signed to a one-year, $9 million deal, but has been out since late March with an injury. Over the course of 2023, he carried a 121 wRC+, but it's his platoon splits against right-handed pitchers that makes him a valuable option when healthy. What Heyward can do for the team is boost their lineup against righties, while giving Dodgers manager Dave Roberts another pinch hit option that he can rely on in late-game spots.

5/15/24 Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Searching For Ways To Give Chris Taylor At-Bats. It is no secret that Chris Taylor has had a disappointing 2024 season for the Los Angeles Dodgers thus far. A big factor in Taylor's struggles this season is his 50% strikeout rate in just 56 at-bats.

5/14/24 'It's tough': Slumping Chris Taylor's playing time cut as Dodgers face roster questions. Chris Taylor spent his offseason focused on what made his swing so effective. A quarter of the way through the season, he's having a career-worst year.

5/13/24 Dodgers' slumping Chris Taylor has seen his playing time disappear. A key component of the Dodgers' bench the past seven years, Chris Taylor has been relegated to the far end of that bench this year, anchored there by an unsightly .071 batting average. The emergence of Andy Pages has eaten away at Taylor's playing time. Taylor hasn't started a game since May and has just seven at-bats in the month of May. “I think it's more performance, matchup,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said of the factors behind Taylor's lack of playing time.

5/09/24 Dave Roberts: No Discussion Of Dodgers Optioning James Outman. The Los Angeles Dodgers are fortunate to have an upper echelon offense that can absorb multiple struggling bats on the roster. Namely, Chris Taylor, Gavin Lux and James Outman, whose rookie year gave a fair amount of optimism that he would be a stable piece in the lineup. Outman's spot in the lineup is no longer a surefire deal as the Dodgers gauge where he's at amidst his slow start. With rookie Andy Pages taking the majority of the everyday reps alongside Teoscar Hernández, that leaves just one outfield spot to contend with.

5/07/24 Dodgers News: Dave Roberts 'Trying To Find At-Bats' For Chris Taylor. Chris Taylor has been a key member of the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup for several years, but he is currently mired in the worst slump of his career to begin a season. Taylor at one point was hitless in 31 consecutive at-bats before ending the skid last month, but it has not translated to further success. Roberts penciled Taylor into the Dodgers lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Atlanta Braves.

4/20/24 Dodgers’ slump continues with loss to streaking Mets. Chris Taylor breaks out of his slump with a two-run, game-tying single in the sixth inning, but the Mets score five times in the final three innings to hand the Dodgers their sixth loss in the past eight games, 9-4.

4/14/24 Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Trying To Give Chris Taylor 'Some Runway' Amid Struggles. The Los Angeles Dodgers lineup has collectively been one of the best in baseball this season, but certain players are still trying to get on track. Among them is Chris Taylor, who enters play Sunday with only one hit in his first 32 at-bats. “He's scuffling, certainly,” manager Dave Roberts said of Taylor heading into the weekend.

4/13/24 Dodgers former All-Star Chris Taylor's prolonged slump gets Dave Roberts admission. The Los Angeles Dodgers have started the 2024 season strong. Utility man Chris Taylor, though, would probably like to hit the refresh button on his campaign. Taylor is currently 1-32 (.031 batting average) in 2024 and has struck out an alarming 17 times already. Taylor has not exactly been a superstar in previous years, but he was selected to the National League All-Star team in 2021.

3/16/24 Dodgers Seoul Series Video: Chris Taylor, Jason Heyward & More From Workout. The Los Angeles Dodgers held their first official workout Saturday afternoon local time at Gocheok Sky Dome in advance of playing the San Diego Padres in the Seoul Series next week. Overall, it was the Dodgers' second visit to the stadium since arriving in South Korea. Manager Dave Roberts, Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman spoke with media prior to the team going through hitting and fielding drills to continue the process of acclimating themselves to not only the time change but the domed stadium.

3/04/24 Dodgers' Chris Taylor lives on 'seesaw' with high-maintenance swing. Chris Taylor has plenty to worry about. “I try not to,” the Dodgers' veteran utilityman said. Taylor has played just about everywhere else for the Dodgers – second, third, shortstop and all three outfield positions – over his eight seasons with the team. This year, though, he finds himself teammates again with Kiké Hernandez, both looking for those same super-utility at-bats.

1/22/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Chris Taylor. After an injury-plagued 2022 season, Chris Taylor looked to get back on track in his eighth year with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The utility man spent the previous offseason working on his swing with Dodgers hitting coaches and even took a trip to the data-driven Driveline Baseball training facility. Taylor initially got off to a slow start but began to heat up in May, hitting .258/.343/.565 with five doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI over 15 games.

1/20/24 Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Provides Heath Update as Spring Training Nears. Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Provides Heath Update as Spring Training Nears Taylor missed a chunk of time last season due to injuries. Author: Matt Levine Publish date: Jan 21, 2024 12:00 PM EST In this story: Los Angeles Dodgers The Dodgers have had massive success in the regular season over the last decade, in part because of how the front office has built out the roster. While Los Angeles has always had star power on the team, they've also had quality depth around the roster. One of the most important depth pieces during that time has been utility player Chris Taylor. He was acquired from the Seattle Mariners in 2016 and has emerged to build out a solid career for himself. Taylor's

1/05/24 Why the Dodgers should go after Tommy Pham. If there is any area for improvement on the current Dodgers roster, it is their corner outfield depth. The Dodgers currently have Chris Taylor projected to be the starting left fielder, with Miguel Vargas and Manuel Margot as additional corner outfield pieces within the major league depth chart. In the 2023 season, Taylor produced at the highest rate out of the three, connecting for 15 home runs while posting a 104 wRC+ and a 1.9 fWAR. If the Dodgers want to add a highly productive bat that can add to their corner outfield depth, then current free agent Tommy Pham looks to be an ideal candidate.

12/01/23 Dodgers should look to acquire Randy Arozarena. The Dodgers are entering the winter meetings with the hopes of upgrading a lackluster rotation, however, they can certainly peek into the corner outfield market as well. If there is one hole within the Dodgers' roster, it is the left field position, as the projected starting left fielder for the 2024 season, according to FanGraphs.com, is Chris Taylor. If the Dodgers are looking to add a full-time outfielder that has All-Star caliber talent, then they can look at adding the 2021 AL Rookie of the Year and 2023 All Star Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Bay Rays. The Tampa Bay Rays are notorious for keeping their payroll on the lower end of baseball, and with players such as Tyler Glasnow entering free agency next offseason, the Rays could be tempted to deal away their most valuable players on their roster.

11/14/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Chris Taylor. Like the spice of Arrakis, the memes about Chris Taylor continued to flow in 2023. Taylor was primarily in a platoon role for the Dodgers in 2023. It is still somewhat odd to think about, but 2023 was Taylor's eighth season in Los Angeles. While Taylor did miss about three weeks of the season due to knee soreness, the human Swiss Army Knife otherwise known as CT3 mostly bounced back.
