4/15/25 Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. gets massive injury update. Outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. took a major step toward a return to the Atlanta Braves lineup on Tuesday when doctors officially cleared him to “ramp up activity and begin progressing toward a rehab assignment,” according to Braves beat writer Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Toscano added that there's still no timetable for Acuna's return but he appears to be on target to rejoin the team in the next month. “They just have to check him out and sign off on it before they can do that,” Braves manager Brian Snitker said last week, per the AP.

4/11/25 Rays' Face-Off Against the Braves in Interleague Series. Both the Tampa Bay Rays and the Atlanta Braves are off to shaky starts in this young MLB season with the two teams having a combined record of 8-14. Projected to win the NL East by Sports Illustrated and others, the Braves currently find themselves sitting in last place in the division with a 3-9 record. When the Rays face-off against the Braves, the Braves will be without two of the best players as both Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider are returning from injuries.

4/10/25 Braves RF Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) to be evaluated next week. Former National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr. will have his surgically repaired left knee examined next week, Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said Thursday. Acuna tore his left anterior cruciate ligament on May 26 and underwent surgery on June 6. The right fielder will be re-evaluated in Los Angeles early next week. “That will determine his next course of action and kind of amping up his rehab,” Snitker told reporters before the Braves' Thursday game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Acuna, 27, has participated in batting practice but hasn't yet been cleared to run the bases. “They just have to check him out and sign off on it before they can do that,” Snitker said, “and I think this was

3/14/25 From 40/70 to 40/30? Ronald Acuna Jr. says he'll be more careful on the basepaths this season -- but no one believes him. Covered the L.A. Rams for ESPN from 2016 to 2018 and the L.A. Angels for MLB.com from 2012 to 2016. "We're gonna do this again," Acuña told Aular, the man who guided him through the torn ACL on his right knee less than three years earlier. Acuña tore his ACL for the first time in 2021, so when Aular saw the clip of him crumbling to the ground last year in Pittsburgh, he worried that the thought of another arduous rehab might crush the player. Acuña initially declared he would no longer steal bases, and Aular spent the better part of 10 weeks convincing him he didn't have to take it that far.

3/13/25 MLB 2025 preview, part 4: Assessing the NL East. The Philadelphia Phillies snapped the Atlanta Braves' string of NL East titles in 2024, but were eliminated in the division round by the Mets, the last team to end a string of Atlanta division titles in 2006. For the Braves to reclaim the division, they need outfielder Ronald Acuna, Jr. and pitcher Ian Anderson to be completely healthy.

1/07/25 Superstar of Phillies Archrival Has Injury Recovery Timeline Pushed Back. The Philadelphia Phillies have dealt with their fair share of injuries over the past few years, but the Atlanta Braves have been crushed with multiple star players going down. Despite the rivalry between the Phillies and Braves, no one ever wants to see someone like Ronald Acuna Jr. get put on the shelf with another knee injury like he did in 2024. When Acuna is on the field, baseball is in a much better place than without him on the diamond. Acuna will return in 2025, and it should be relatively early in the campaign.

11/26/24 1 trade Braves must make during offseason. The Atlanta Braves have been one of the more consistent MLB teams over the years. Atlanta still managed to make a postseason run in 2024 despite Ronald Acuna Jr. and Spencer Strider both dealing with injuries. The Braves need outfield help for the 2025 season, and according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Atlanta's “preference” is to add a left-handed bat. Michael Harris II is the Braves center fielder.

11/06/24 Braves stars Ronald Acuna Jr., Spencer Strider not expected back by Opening Day after season-ending injuries. Two of the injuries that hampered the Atlanta Braves' season are expected to linger into next year, too. Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) and Spencer Strider (elbow) are not expected to be ready for Opening Day after undergoing season-ending surgeries in the spring, president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos said at the General Manager Meetings. “I don't think it's significant time, but I think we're confident that Opening Day is not realistic for them,” Anthopoulos said in San Antonio, according to MLB.com. After winning 20 games and finishing fourth in NL Cy Young Award voting in 2023, the hard-throwing Strider made only two starts last season before needing surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow.

10/25/24 Braves add World Series winner to Brian Snitker's coaching staff. For the Atlanta Braves, this offseason is not necessarily about making sweeping roster changes but rather implementing the necessary adjustments that can allow them to reclaim their offensive mojo in 2025. While injuries to stars like Ronald Acuna Jr., Austin Riley, Ozzie Albies and Michael Harris II definitely lowered the club's ceiling, a key tweak to the hitting approach could be crucial. Enter Tim Hyers. Atlanta is hiring the two-time World Series champion to be its new hitting coach, per David O'Brien of The Athletic.

10/04/24 Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr., Spencer Strider get uncertain injury updates. The Atlanta Braves' 2024 season did not exactly go according to plan. Atlanta entered the season with legitimate World Series aspirations, but ended up narrowly reaching the postseason as a National League Wild Card team. Reaching the postseason was an impressive feat considering all of the injuries Atlanta dealt with, as Ronald Acuna Jr.
