With news on Thursday that the Chicago Cubs demoted Jose Cuas, there was a roster move needed before the team opened their weekend series against the Seattle Mariners on Friday night. The expectation was that it would be Hayden Wesneski or Keegan Thompson as the corresponding move to replace Cuas in the bullpen as both pitchers have experience in the Major League bullpen and are on the Cubs' 40-man roster.
