| 4/28/23 | Simeon Woods Richardson is a tough-luck loser as Saints fall to Red Wings 2-1. ROCHESTER, N.Y. — This was tough one to lose for St. Paul Saints pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson. The Twins prospect had a perfect game through four innings Friday night against the Rochester Red Wings, still had a no-hitter through five, allowed a hit for the first time in the sixth, then gave up two runs on three hits in the seventh before leaving at the end of the inning. In the end, the Red Wings won 2-1 at Innovative Field to drop the Saints' record to 15-9 this season. Rochester starter Cory Abbott matched Woods Richardson pitch for pitch. Abbott retired the first 10 batters he faced and lasted 5.2 shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out 12.
