11/20/23 Monday Rockpile: Three non-tendered free agents the Rockies could pursue. Friday marked the deadline for MLB teams to tender contracts to players not already under a guaranteed deal or eligible for free agency. The non-tender deadline seems to grow each year, flooding the free agent market with more and more options for other clubs to pursue. The Colorado Rockies were involved by non-tendering RP Tommy Doyle – who was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for newly acquired RHP Cal Quantril. While Quantrill has big league success to his name, he certainly wasn't the biggest pitcher to depart his previous organization.

10/25/23 Ranking the Rockies: No. 39, Tommy Doyle and No. 38, Evan Justice. Welcome to the 2023 edition of Ranking the Rockies, where we take a look back at every player to log playing time for the Rockies in 2023. The “Ranking” is an organizing principle that's drawn from Baseball Reference's WAR (rWAR). It's not often you get a second chance at your big league debut, but right-handed reliever Tommy Doyle got just that in 2023. Called up in late September of the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, the University of Virginia product made his big-league debut on September 23rd.

3/12/21 Rockies option 3 40-man roster players, reassign 3 non-roster invitees |. The Colorado Rockies on Friday made their first batch of spring training roster moves, optioning three 40-man roster players to Triple-A and reassigning an additional four non-roster invitees to minor league camp. Right-handed reliever Tommy Doyle was, among the group of rostered players, probably the one with the best chance of making the club out of spring training.

9/26/20 Saturday Rockpile: Tim Melville would have been perfect for 2020. Tommy Doyle made his MLB debut on Wednesday without an appearance above High-A; he kicked off his big league tenure with an 18.00 ERA. Jose Mujica has appeared on a big league mound once: he allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings. Antonio Santos made his first big league start on Friday; he allowed six earned runs and didn’t get out of the first inning.
