7/06/25 | Charlie Morton, beloved by Atlanta Braves' organization, shines for Orioles. Spencer Strider sat on the postgame podium Friday night with his arms crossed and eyes down. The Braves right-hander was clearly frustrated with his performance — allowing three runs through six innings against the Orioles — but the 26-year-old's face lit up at the mention of one person: Charlie Morton. “He's the best guy I know,” Strider said of his good friend and former teammate. You would be hard-pressed to find someone in the Braves' clubhouse who does not speak glowingly of Morton, who spent four seasons with the team from 2021-24 (in his second stint) before signing with the Orioles in free agency. 7/05/25 | Freshman closer: Lee County High grad completes successful first season. UNC’s freshman closer is taking his success in stride. Maybe that’s fitting since he follows Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Spencer Strider. Walker McDuffie, a Lee County High School graduate, finished the 2025 season with three wins, three losses, seven saves and a 3.74 ERA. He made 28 appearances, including 72 strikeouts and 25 walks for the Tar Heels. “It was a pretty good experience,” he said ... Source: https://sports.yahoo.com/article/freshman-closer-l... |

7/03/25 | Braves Sorting Through Rotation Options Ahead of Orioles Series. The Atlanta Braves continue to evaluate options for the starting rotation for the upcoming Baltimore Orioles series. Spencer Strider has things covered for Friday, and Grant Holmes is good to go for Sunday. Spencer Schwellenbach found himself on the injured list Wednesday afternoon with a right elbow fracture, creating what Brian Snitker called an "up in the air type deal." The Braves manager said that going with a bullpen day was a high possibility. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/braves/news/braves-sorting-... |
6/30/25 | Braves trade pitch brings them veteran workhorse to aid decimated rotation. Despite sitting 10.5 games back in the National League East and eight games back of the third Wild Card, the Atlanta Braves aren't the obvious sellers that their 38-45 record would indicate. With a roster stacked with former All-Stars, the Braves certainly have the talent to climb out of the hole they have dug themselves, especially with Ronald Acuña Jr. and Spencer Strider back in the mix. Pending a total collapse in the next month, a soft buy may be an effective strategy for the Braves. This would mean that they wouldn't be in the mix for the trade deadline's best prizes, such as Jarren Duran or Seth Lugo, but instead look to fill out their roster with low-cost additions.
