1/03/24 | 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Tyler Cyr. Tyler Cyr was among the pitchers who contributed to the Los Angeles Dodgers last year after signing a Minor League contract with the team leading into 2023. The 30-year-old began the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he struggled to the tune of a 4.86 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 15 games. Cyr joined the Dodgers when he had his contract selected on May 19 as the corresponding move to Andre Jackson being optioned to OKC. Cyr appeared in back-to-back games against the St. Louis Cardinals, throwing a combined 1.2 innings and allowing just one hit while collecting two strikeouts in those appearances. 12/26/23 | 2023 Dodgers in review: Tyler Cyr. Tyler Cyr pitched for the Dodgers at perhaps the most tumultuous time of the regular season for the pitching staff, and then spent the rest of the season on the injured list. Cyr made his major league debut in August 2022 with the Phillies, then went to the A's on waivers to finish out the season before getting released in January. The Dodgers signed the veteran right-hander to a minor league contract on February 3, which included a non-roster invitation to spring training. After a month and a half in relief with Triple-A Oklahoma City, including a 4.86 ERA in 15 games and a 31.6-percent strikeout rate, Cyr got the call to the Dodgers on May 19 during hell week, after both Dustin May and Julio Urías succumbed to injuries.
