3/12/24 No longer afraid, Rockies' Riley Pint opens up about his comeback journey: 'I want to be an inspiration'. Once a highly touted prospect and a first round draft pick in 2016, Riley Pint quit baseball in 2021. Three years later, he's making a comeback.

2/23/24 Rockies spring training recap: Elehuris Montero blasts 449-foot homer in win over D-backs. Rockies 3, Diamondbacks 0 Friday at Salt River Fields On the mound: Lefty prospect Carson Palmquist, a non-roster invitee, got the first start of spring and looked sharp. He pitched two scoreless innings and struck out four. Manager Bud Black liked how Palmquist worked the strike zone and threw first-pitch strikes. … Hard-throwing right-hander Riley Pint, cranking his fastball up to 97.6 mph and displaying good movement on his slider, allowed one hit in a scoreless eighth inning. All told, Rockies pitchers struck out 16 D-backs hitters. 2/20/24 Rockies' high-profile prospects Riley Pint, Michael Toglia and Zac Veen still waiting to break out. • Riley Pint, the high school kid with the 102 mph fastball, had aspirations of being a flamethrowing starter in the majors. • Michael Toglia was tabbed as an athletic power hitter with the potential to be the Rockies' best homegrown first baseman since Todd Helton. • Zac Veen, gifted with power and speed, was drafted straight out of high school to be the club's next great outfielder. None of the three has made an impact at the big-league level as the Rockies struggled through five consecutive losing seasons.

1/31/24 Wednesday Rockpile: Riley Pint deserves a shot at a bullpen spot. One of the more intriguing storylines for the Colorado Rockies was the promotion of Riley Pint to the big league roster where he was finally able to make his long-awaited debut in a Rockies uniform. Unfortunately for Pint, his debut lasted for just one out in a mixed outing, but I'm still in the camp that he can be a helpful contributor in the Rockies bullpen. Originally drafted fourth overall in 2016 by the Rockies, Pint battled injuries and ineffectiveness before retiring during the 2021 season. Despite a difficult year in Triple-A Albuquerque this past season, Pint was able to pitch a full season and has still shown plenty of promise that he could stick as a big leaguer in some capacity.
