5/31/23 Tigers option reliever to make room for Reese Olson. DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers optioned right-handed reliever Braden Bristo to Triple-A Toledo following Wednesday's game. Bristo pitched once during his two-day stint with the Tigers, allowing one unearned run in two innings of work on Tuesday night against the Texas Rangers. When Bristo was announced as the new pitcher on Tuesday, the public address announcer and scoreboard incorrectly identified him as making his “Major League debut.” In fact, it was his second game, although his first as a Tiger. The Tigers claimed Bristo off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays on May 1 . The 28-year-old came up in the New York Yankees system after being drafted in the 23rd round out of Louisiana Tech in 2016.
