4/15/24 | Tigers claim reliever off waivers from Mariners. DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers claimed right-handed reliever Ty Adcock off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on Monday. Adcock had been designated for assignment by the Mariners on April 8 amid a bullpen shakeup . The Tigers optioned Adock to Triple-A Toledo. No corresponding move was required; the Tigers had a vacancy after parting ways with right-hander Miguel Diaz at the end of spring training . Adcock, 27, was drafted by the Mariners in the eighth round out of Elon University in 2019. He made his big-league debut last year, posting a 3.45 ERA in 15 2/3 innings. During their days playing together at tiny Elon University in North Carolina, Ty Adcock and George Kirby talked about potentially playing together in professional baseball. “We talk about Elon being a Seattle pipeline,” Adcock said.
