Ben Casparius, a Westport native and former standout at Staples High School and UConn, is being added to the Los Angeles Dodgers' NL Division Series roster against the San Diego Padres. Casparius, a 25-year-old rookie right-hander, made his big league debut on Aug. 31 and was 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in three relief appearances, striking out 12 and walking four in 8 1/3 innings. Casparius, a fifth round draft pick of the Dodgers in 2021, was first called up to the Dodgers on Aug. 18, spending three days with the club without an appearance before being sent back to Oklahoma City. The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Ben Casparius and optioned Zach Logue to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of their final homestand of the season. Logue joined the Dodgers active roster one week after signing a Minor League deal with the club following his release from the Atlanta Braves organization.
