8/27/25 Royals' Ryan Bergert seeks elusive win in finale vs. White Sox. Consistency and composure have accompanied Kansas City Royals rookie right-hander Ryan Bergert in each of his four starts with the team. Bergert hopes those components finally conspire for his first win with his new club on Wednesday night when he faces the host Chicago White Sox. Bergert (1-1, 2.79 ERA) has pitched to a 2.82 ERA in four starts covering 22 1/3 innings since joining the Royals in a trade-deadline deal with the San Diego Padres last month.

8/17/25 Royals' fans get first in-person look at P Ryan Bergert as he faces White Sox. Ryan Bergert has enjoyed a solid start to his Kansas City tenure and now has a chance to help the Royals continue their home dominance of the Chicago White Sox. The 25-year-old rookie right-hander will seek a third straight solid start Sunday afternoon for the Royals, who can sweep this three-game set with a 14th consecutive home win over the White Sox. Bergert (1-1, 2.87 ERA) has helped an injury-plagued rotation by allowing two runs over 5 2/3 innings in each of his two starts since coming from San Diego at the trade deadline last month. The Royals acquired Bergert in a deal that sent backup catcher Freddy Fermin to the Padres.

They added pitchers Ryan Bergert, Bailey Falter and Stephen Kolek, infielder Adam Frazier and outfielders Randal Grichuk and Mike Yastrzemski.
