8/20/25 D-backs' Torey Lovullo Explains Sending Down Young Pitcher. On Wednesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks made a roster move, sending right-hander Andrew Hoffmann down to Triple-A Reno and calling up right-hander Bryce Jarvis. Hoffmann, 25, had been working through some growing pains in his first major league season, struggling through some of his recent outings. On Saturday, Hoffmann was charged for four earned runs in a loss to the Rockies.

8/20/25 Diamondbacks Option Struggling Rookie Reliever, Recall Bryce Jarvis. In a not very surprising move, the Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned rookie right-hander Andrew Hoffmann. Right-hander Bryce Jarvis has been called up from Triple-A Reno to take his place. Hoffmann was acquired from the Kansas City Royals in the Randal Grichuk trade. The 25-year old has been struggling of late to throw strikes, creating some frustration for Torey Lovullo.

8/19/25 Young Diamondbacks Reliever Discusses Growing Pains. For better or worse, the Arizona Diamondbacks are going to live and die by their young group of relievers after injuries and underperformance have plagued their bullpen in the 2025 season. Arizona is in the midst of some turmoil, both on and off the field. One such example is Andrew Hoffmann, the 25-year-old right-hander acquired in the trade that sent outfielder Randal Grichuk to the Kansas City Royals. Hoffmann has shown flashes of extreme potential and talent, but was also tagged for four earned runs on Saturday, as the D-backs went on to blow a five-run lead.

8/16/25 Diamondbacks Bullpen Meltdown Strikes Again in Loss to Rockies. A 7-4 lead not only evaporated, but was flipped to a 10-7 deficit thanks to a six-run Rockies outburst against the D-backs bullpen. This time Andrew Hoffmann and Andrew Saalfrank were the reliever culprits. Hoffmann gave up a one out double, two walks, and a two-run double.

8/11/25 Diamondbacks Melt Down into Painful Extra-Inning Loss. The Arizona Diamondbacks lost to the Texas Rangers in ugly fashion to begin their three-game series, dropping game one by a score of 7-6 at Globe Life Field. After rookie reliever Andrew Hoffmann threw an efficient, scoreless eighth inning to preserve a 6-5 lead, the Rangers would tie it in the ninth. Hoffmann served up a middle-middle changeup to Rowdy Tellez, who took it deep to right field. The D-backs once again failed to plate the ghost runner in extras, and Texas walked off Andrew Saalfrank in the home half on an RBI single.
