3/25/25 | Cardinals' John Mozeliak Compares Floundering Veteran To Legend Adam Wainwright. Following a troubling 2025 spring training performance, a St. Louis Cardinals veteran hurler is being compared to one of the franchise's most beloved characters. Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak recently compared one of the club's top pitchers to 2006 World Series champion Adam Wainwright after the three-time All-Star's atrocious spring training this year. Hopefully, Mozeliak's comparison to the future Hall of Fame candidate ages well; otherwise, the Cardinals could be in for some trouble this upcoming season. "Said Mozeliak on Monday: 'I'm confident that he(Sonny Gray) knows how to pitch and can adjust,'" as transcribed by St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Derrick Goold late Monday night. 10/24/24 | Cardinals Fan Favorite Reportedly Could Join Dark Forces With Pesky NL Central Rival. The St. Louis Cardinals haven't won the National League Central since 2022 when Adam Wainwright, Yadier Molina and Albert Pujols were still on the team. Much has changed within the organization since the Cardinals were crowned division champs. Sadly, it could take a couple more seasons before St. Louis is a perennial contender for the NL Central pennant as the organization prioritizes fixing its broken player development system. Unfortunately, a Cardinals fan favorite might find himself on the top of the divisional throne with one of St. Louis' most pestering rivals in recent years.
