7/11/25 | Yankees' Carlos Rodon replacing Max Fried in All-Star Game. The New York Yankees have survived without ace Gerrit Cole, and one of the rotation's most impressive contributors will get his day in the sun at the 2025 MidSummer Classic. As per multiple sources, Yankees starter Carlos Rodon has been named an American League All-Star. According to Baseball Savant, he ranks in the 89th percentile in xBA, the 95th percentile in Pitching Run Value, and the 85th percentile in K%. While Rodon used to be heavily reliant on his fastball and slider, he made a concerted effort to keep opposing hitters guessing. Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/new-york-yankees/yank... |
7/10/25 | Yankees GM Reveals Trade Deadline Plans. The New York Yankees are approaching the trade deadline with a lot of moving parts, and general manager Brian Cashman shared his thoughts today on what they'll be looking for. "I'm definitely gonna be looking for upgrades if I can, it doesn't guarantee anything," Cashman told the press on Wednesday. Cashman is referring to Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil, as well as Clarke Schmidt who was recently moved to the injured list with what is expected to be a season-ending injury that will require Tommy John surgery. Cashman went on to compliment the team's other impressive starters who have "stepped up", including Will Warren, who went nearly five scoreless innings in Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners. 7/08/25 | Yankees' Gerrit Cole Emerges at Aaron Judge Camp. The New York Yankees got some devastating news at start of this season: ace pitcher Gerrit Cole will miss all of the 2025 season to undergo and recover from Tommy John surgery. According to a video posted by a fan on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, Cole attended a one-day baseball camp hosted by Yankees captain Aaron Judge. The camp, which took place at Fordham University in the Bronx, was hosted by Pro Camps in conjunction with Judge's ALL-RISE Foundation. According to the foundation website, "Aaron Judge ALL RISE Pro-Camps provide an opportunity for youth to develop positive character traits in a fun atmosphere while practicing skills with the NY Yankees Captain." 6/24/25 | Marlins-Yankees Trade Features One Major Stumbling Block. The Miami Marlins seem rather likely to be very active between now and the MLB trade deadline, and the New York Yankees could represent a perfect trade partner for them. The Yankees could certainly use another pitcher, as Gerrit Cole is out for the season, Luis Gil has not thrown a pitch yet due to a lat strain and Ryan Yarbrough is now on the 15-day injured list. Zach Pressnell of FanSided thinks so, naming Miami ace Sandy Alcantara as a potential trade target for the Yankees in the wake of all of their injuries. 6/20/25 | Yankees could poach $21.05 million World Series hero from Red Sox. The New York Yankees starting rotation was decimated in spring training thanks to injuries plaguing pitchers Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil. While Gil is making progress, Cole is out for the year due to Tommy John surgery. This is an area the Yankees could stand to improve at the trade deadline. Colin Keane of Sports Illustrated proposed the idea of New York poaching Walker Buehler from the rival Boston Red Sox. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/new-york-yanke... |
