6/14/25 Blue Jays Could Find Next Star Player by Trading With Red Sox. The Toronto Blue Jays have turned things around and are real AL contenders at this point of the season, which means they can become active at the trade deadline if they feel the need to add. There are a couple of places on the roster that could use upgrading if they want to improve their World Series odds, but a main one is in the outfield. George Springer has been a bounce-back source of offense, but pretty much everyone else has a caveat attached to them. Daulton Varsho has been good when healthy, but he has missed almost two-thirds of the year.

6/09/25 Blue Jays' George Springer pulls off a career first in Cardinals series opener. Notwithstanding their series finale 6-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins on the road on Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays are one of the best teams of late in the big leagues. Also having a good time of late is Blue Jays outfielder George Springer, who extended a hitting streak to five games with an RBI double in the first inning of Monday's series opener versus the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. With that hit, Springer has managed to reach an extra base in five games in a row now, the first time he's done such a feat in his career in the big leagues, according to Sportsnet Stats.

6/02/25 [Defector] - Blue Jays Rally Undone By George Springer’s Little Hops. MLB's replay era has brought many annoying developments to the game, perhaps none more so than infielders keeping their glove pinned to every baserunner in their vicinity, knowing there's a chance that an infinitesimal separation between foot/hand and base can lead to an out. It is effective, but the behavior is also vaguely narc-ish. It's how a nerd records an out. On Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays prevailed over the West Sacramento A's, 8–4, which is good news for the Blue Jays but even better news for George Springer, who in the fifth inning was the victim of some zealous defending by A's third baseman Max Schuemann. With his team trailing 3-0, Springer hit a two-out single that scored Myles Straw and moved Vlad Guerrero Jr. to second. Alejandro Kirk followed that up with a double that scored Guerrero Jr.—the Jays were rallying, baby! Woo!—and advanced Springer to third. Addison Barger must have been licking his damn chops as he prepared to step into the box with two runners in scoring position and the score now 3–2. Unfortunately, Barger was banished back to the dugout because of Springer's decision to do some ill-timed hopping on third base.

6/02/25 Houston Astros look vulnerable in the AL West. Is anyone ready to dethrone them?. Slowly but surely, the stars of Houston's 2017 World Series-winning team have scattered about in the years since. George Springer is in Toronto now, Alex Bregman in Boston and Carlos Correa in Minnesota. Jose Altuve and Lance McCullers Jr. are still with the Astros, but it feels like it's only a matter of time before Houston's dominance of the AL West comes to an end.

5/10/25 Is Blue Jays Largest Bright Spot Really An Aging Veteran Outfielder?. In strictly baseball terms, George Springer, 35, is old. The outfielder made a name for himself early in his career as a member of the Houston Astros. Selected by the Astros in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft, he debuted three years later and quickly became a key member of the lineup, serving as a spark plug who could also provide the power, averaging 35 home runs per 162 games during his tenure in Houston. Springer signed with the Blue Jays in free agency ahead of the 2021 campaign, and things have not gone as well as they did with his previous team.
